MY CAREER AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Peter is an amateur musician covering a variety of genres and is known as a singer, pianist, guitarist and choral conductor.
Over the last 25 years his principal musical activities have been in church music where he regularly leads worship as both Reader and musician. He has written a large number of worship songs and spiritual songs including a choral setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis
He currently leads Something Good Singers, a local community choir with a repertoire chosen mainly from the late 1950’s through to the early 1970’s - the classical years of pop. The choir also lead worship in churches.
He is a member of the Jacobi Choral which specialises in Early Music, often performing with Pro Musica, an early music instrumental ensemble. He has regularly sung solos for Jacobi including:
Grosser Herr und starker Koenig and Bist du bei mir:JS Bach,
Various recitative and solos: Handel’s Messiah
Nigra Sum: Monteverdi’s Vespers 1610,
Absalom: Schutz.
O Sole Mio and Nessun Dorma.
